The 2001 Daytona 955i is the fuel-injected three-cylinder sportsbike after it moved from the single-sided swingarm to a lighter conventional twin-sided one. It also had a higher compression ratio, a taller seat and a larger tank than the 1999-2000 bikes. It was pitched as a fast road bike with usable midrange rather than a pure race replica.
